Dookie Rope Chain!

An old school favorite that's making a massive return in today's fashion scene is the infamous DOOKIE ROPE CHAIN. This rope chain made it's first appearance in the hip-hop world on the likes of Run DMC, LL Cool J, Mr. T, Salt-n-Pepper, and others. It's now a real stylish accent to outfits when pieced appropriately. Check out the then and now!! Comments are welcomed !!

Old school poetic justice plaits

We all know fashion and style repeats itself! OH how things come full circle! 20 years after Janet Jackson debut her signature box braid extensions in the 1993 film Poetic Justice, they are making a huge comeback. (Similar styles also seen in films like Friday, Set it off, and Jason's Lyric. Don't forget Moesha)

The Old School      vs.         The New School

What are your thoughts on the large box plaits?

Thumbs up or thumbs down to the old school plaits making a come back ?!! Comment below !!!

Head Scarves are a MUST!

As you DISASTER LOVERS can tell fashion is forever evolving, changing form and repeating itself. One look that is a definite must is the headscarves. For me mainly because they’re perfect for those “I don’t feel like doing my hair” days but they look awesome even for those days when you hair looks fab. I decided to put together a simple DIY tutorial of to how wear several different scarves. Check out the pictures with directions on how to achieve each look. I also found a really cool video that shows 7 different ways to wear a scarf in under 3 minutes, check it out below! Hope you guys enjoy! Email Perfekdisaster@gmail.com if needed! Comment below!

                                                   BOW TO THE SIDE HEADBAND
Wrap medium length scarf from behind and bring ends to the side (right or left…whatever you like). Make a “bunny ears” bow for a more floppy looking bow. Play with it and make it as big as you like. And that’s it.

RETRO HEADBAND
Take medium size square scarf and fold into triangle. Take the point of triangle and fold down twice to a reasonable width. Wrap scarf from behind (folded part against your head) then tie at the top of your head into a knot. Tuck loose pieces on their respective sides. Works whether hair is up or down.

HOOK KNOT HEADBAND
This is an easy fix for “undone” hair worn down. Wrap medium/long scarf from behind then “hook” (cross then twist) in front. Tie the scarf in the back and that’s it.

BIG KNOT HEADBAND
Fold and scrunch width of medium/long scarf to thin it out. Wrap head scarf around head from behind then two part twist to the front or side. When done twisting, wrap twisted scarf into a knot.

BIG KNOT TURBAN
Open up a long and wide scarf and wrap your head from behind bringing the top to the top of your head. Be sure to keep it as tight as you can without tying a knot. Twist scarf all the way down. Once all twisted, wrap scarf into a big knot tucking in all excess fabric.
